it's beginning...

...to look a lot like...well! Just a peek at some of my weekend doings: gathering the raw materials. I know it sounds crazy, but I really did get my tree this weekend. Fresh from Virginia, cut just last week the guy said. It smells divine.

Cheers...and happy monday!

  1. 'Tis the season...why fight it? I am watching The Grinch right now. It wouldn't be the holidays without roast beast!

  2. I will miss the fragrance of a real tree. We opted for a fake tree this year. Much less work!

  3. If you are going to the effort of a fresh tree, then by all means get it early so you can enjoy it as long as possible. I put pomegranates and greens from the garden on a shelf above our front stairs at Thanksgiving so people would think of the coming holiday as they left the house after dinner.

  4. Why fight it indeed!

Ms. Wis. ~ I am sure your greens are beautiful...what a lovely way to usher in the holidays.

  5. I got my fresh tree early too -- just after Thanksgiving. Like Ms. Wis says, it's nice to enjoy it since so much work goes into it.
