Summer is about keeping it simple. It is too hot for anything else. A white linen shirt, an easy dinner of green salad and fresh corn, a spot in the shade. Bare feet!
LOVE Vermont! My son went to chef school at Montpellier. Vermont was wasted on him (bars too far apart), but if we could afford to, I'd be there NOW! A friend explained Vermont as: 8th generation dairy farmers and hippies who came in the 60s and never left. What's not to love about great dairy and liberal politics? We are baking at 100 degrees, starting in our second week now. WOWSERS! After working in the garden all day, the best I can come up with for dinner is two glasses of wine and whatever is in the fridge. The Stilton Cheese painting takes virtual eating to a new level!
I think I would kill for that salad right now!

ReplyDeleteOh my, that salad is beautiful! Bare feet on 18th-century grass ramps in those calm green falling gardens would be perfect just now.
ReplyDeleteDelicious salad – wish I was there with a bottle of rosé - or two. KDM
ReplyDeleteWill trade a cool Maine breeze for your salad.
ReplyDeleteI also planted so many herbs in my garden. Planning to plant mint, lavender, rosemary and the other herbs. These are beautiful flowers collection.
