ReplyDeleteOkay - so now I have three MORE books to add to the "to read" list I've been putting together! So many books, so little time ;o) And I watched the wonderful Cranford (again) a few days ago. Will have to catch Return to as well.
ReplyDeleteJCB, have you ever read the book Cranford? I understand the TV series is an amalgam of Cranford and other stories by Mrs. Gaskell. I love the book. There's something about the pace of the book that fits a cold winter's night - to be read, knees up on a sofa, in a library by the light of a flickering fire, a glass of port to hand with a slice of home-made fruit cake. Nod quietly away till bed time.

ReplyDeleteBlue ~ I am embarrased to say I have not read Cranford. I am generally loathe to watch a movie before I have read the book, but how can I resist Masterpiece Theater? In this case however, I think it will be interesting to see how they weave the stories together.
Gaye ~ Yes! I have started it and am really enjoying it. Not quite 50pages in...so will let you know how things progress. But then, I am a sucker for heavy historical dramas!
