Something different today ~ a recto-verso drawing. Found last year at an antiques store in Fredericksburg. I particularly couldn't resist the bee. The embossed crown in the corner is nothing more glamorous than the "A. Pirie & Sons Bristol Board" logo.
Some random fabulousness:
* the new antiquarians
* and two reasons to go to Kentucky: Pope Villa and Pleasant Hill
Sit back and relax this weekend. You deserve it. xo

Janet ur images are mind blowing great work
If you framed would you use clear glass instead of matting it - so as to be able to view recto and verso?
You know Blue, I have been trying to figure that out. I think yes, I will want to see both sides. Luckily, I have a great framer, and she has a way of working miracles. I will let you know the outcome...
the bee is perfection. ahhh! la
Dearest Cuz - you have the most amazing eye. Life, writing, work (eating up MOST of the hours, regrettably) fill my days, and it's only once in a while I get to your blog (my own have languished -- for the moment) and when I do, it's always filled with treasures and surprises. Keep going. All my love - R
What a find! The bee is beautiful - the green wings so interesting.
I love Bristol Board... and the reasons you want to go to Kentucky! One of my favorite spots in the world is Pleasant Hill. Please have a piece of shaker lemon pie for me.

I love that little bee!
