Inscribed: "Bixby Park - / Long Beach, Cal. - 1914." Dining al fresco. I think this is such a beautiful image, with the trees and mottled sun light. I would have like to have joined them.
Just two things today (it feels like the end of a season):
* a Gathering / Sound of Summer Running
* and this portrait
I am off on an adventure ~ heading west. Before I go, I will leave you with a little controversy.
Type to you in a week. Cheers!

Adding to that controversy is the underlying larger issue: is Shakespeare really Shakespeare. I'm not so sure...
Off topic: have your finished Stopover in Venice? I had to force my way through this. My brain must be drying up but I found the diction of the book did not resonate with me. And I hated all of those letters. A cheater's way to write, I think. Have fun out west and I hope there's an al fresco meal with picture perfect weather for you in store.
I would love to be sitting at that table, if not for just the fact that I would get to wear a hat! On a side note, I saw Julie and Julia tonight and am now obsessed with little french looking hats.
Safe travels!
Funny, we were both pondering our Sunday best,
see my Sunday post.
