Home from Michigan, where winter taunted us with grey skies and snow flurries.
Setting the Thanksgiving table was the gentleman's job. And I must say, it was warm and bright ~ decorated with red berries and Russian sage. A simple meal for three: turkey breast with sausage stuffing, gravy, roasted Brussels sprouts and butternut squash (from the garden), cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Yum.
And you?

Kudos to the gentleman's table! I'm sure he gave the same care to the Brussels sprouts!
three???? and who is the other one??? got something to tell your fans?
I love small parties. Looks so sweet.
Happy 1st Thanksgiving.

We also had TG for three this year, with all the trimmings. Oh, and all the dishes, too. We then were five the next evening, to eat the leftovers. Even more dishes! I only finished washing the wine glasses, which I had left for last, on Sunday morning. My fingers are still water-logged I think!
I don't think you will ever have to do up a table again-this one is pretty near perfect to my eye-that touch of Opaline does it for me. glad yours was happy and bountiful .
Love those red berries with the turquoise -really beautiful! So glad to hear the trip home was successful - dinner sounds delicious. No 4th from NY?
Brussel Sprouts -my fav!
Ditto Stefan and Gaye! Red of the berries with the turquoise is gorgeous. Love the snowy white, too.
love the salt celler - KDM
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I think what I love best about it (other than being all about food) is that it gets interpreted in a very personal way but influenced by region, by heritage and by deep memory. I think your first thanksgiving table was personal, meaningful, charming and delicious. How could you ask for anything more?
mom ~ the Brussels sprouts were prepared with care!
Meg ~ oh goodness! Eventhough I ate enough for two, our third managed with her own knife and fork (my mother-in-law!).
pve ~ thank you! Firsts are ever so special.
little a ~ I think table setting is the gentleman's resposibility indeed! He was very happy to hear you approved of his Opaline glass.
Stefan ~ Beth celebrated in Tarrytown.
Courtney ~ thank you! The gentleman has an eye for color!
KDM ~ of course you do...
hbd ~ there is not a thing more we could have asked for. Here's hoping yours was just as lovely.
Oh, and Reggie! I KNOW the feeling. I must invest in a new tube of Aveeno. I am sure your meal was glorious and well worth all the dish washing.
