a day in virginia

A bit more from our day in Virginia, visiting Stratford Hall. The apple trees were in full glory, braches straining under the weight of a bumper crop.

P.S. All are fine after the 5.9 earthquake here in Washington.

Be well. Be safe.

There's an apple I miss from back home - the Russett apple and in the way that greengages were a sign of high summer in my youth so were Russetts a sign of Autumn. Ah, me! Nostalgia rules!

Stefan ~ it is here! Love those apples!!!!

Blue ~ funny how things like that brink back such a flood of memories. What I loved about these apple was how "real" they were. . . oddly shaped and funny looking. Perfect.
