family threads

When I was down in Texas, my great aunt decided to go through her cedar chest and passed along some old family linens ~ several sets of embroidered napkins, a couple table cloths (including the one below, monogrammed by my great-great-grandmother), and a set of linen sheets that belonged to my great-great-grandparents. The "R" is for von Rosenberg. I love the idea of having things that have been passed down through several generations of women.

Hope you had a lovely weekend. I hosted my stitching group sunday ~ a knitter, a quilter, a cross-stitcher, and a needlepointer ~ all co-existing in perfect harmony! It was such fun to see everyone's projects progressing so beautifully. I also think it is so special to have this time with women, to just revel in each other's company and creativity. Well (*sigh*) it's now back to the daily grind...
