What a delight to be home for a weekend. Nesting ~ painting, cooking, stitching, and watching those long afternoon shadows. I delved into a new cookbook, which I picked up in London ~ Skye Gyngell's
A Year in My Kitchen. Fabulous recipes and some seriously stunning photography (by Jason Lowe). The recipes are organized by season, which I love ~ making it easy to take advantage of local produce at market. Her cauliflower gorgonzola soup is on the menu for this evening, and I have already ordered her latest book:
My Favourite Ingredients. Gyngell is the chef at
Petersham Nurseries, which does indeed look like the perfect destination for "serious foodies" (!!).
And sweet William came into the world at 12:34am on Saturday. I was delighted to be his very first visitor!

I hope you report back on the cauliflower gorgonzola soup. Based on the name, it certainly sounds as if it will be delicious.
And I love that picture of the rainy scene out your window from your last post. Something about looking out a rain spattered window feels so cozy.
oh, I've been wanting to read this cookbook. there's a slightly altered version of skye gyngell's recipe at 101cookbooks.com, also.
this was such a beautiful little read.
I got Skye's book sometime ago but mostly have enjoyed the pictures and mused on the recipes, so I will also be interested to hear about the soup. Your photos are so restful — and not just because it's bedding!
I love your white on white image and I checked out the cookbook - it looks fabulous
enjoy the peace and whiteness of the new apartment - and you better share recipes!
That book sounds wonderful -- I'll put it on my list -- thanks!!
Oh so happy to hear the news of little William. I'll have to check out the cookbook - I'm definitely trying to cook with the seasons and find it difficult to locate sympathetic recipes that still sound so yummy!
