summer idylls

Back from Maine. Missing cool nights, salt air, blueberries, fresh corn, crab rolls, sticky popsicle fingers, and squeezy hugs. And for some reason Washington feels even hotter than ever now.

There are no house tours, or intellectual insights from this trip ~ just a series of summer idylls. Which (in my opinion) is just the way vacation should be.

My only complaint is that it all flew by so quickly. . .

I think salt air may be intellectual insights. Just last week I read that human DNA is approximately 70% the same as a sea sponge. And since we all know we use much less than 70% of our brain, salt air must be a magic elixer.Throw in a crab roll and it's a family reunion!

Your pictures are almost like a classic Ralph Lauren ad :)

Mom ~ we miss you too.

Courtney and Gretchen ~ thank you!

hbd ~ well, I am glad to be able inspire some small bit of intellectual insight. I must say that I think I am running on about 70% right now...

Emile ~ it is awfully all-American, isn't it!?!?!
