down south

. . . where the air is soft, the skies are blue, and the sun is warm on my face. There are lush green leaves, and bushes heavy with roses.

And there are lots of Peachtrees (but no peaches!).

Sunday afternoon was spent getting to know a friend for the first time, and monday morning seeing a classic piece of architecture. Then it was time to get to work. . .

I'll be home soon.

Yes, we do have so many roads with that name :) You missed the flowering trees and bushes at their peak but came just in time for all the green. It was wonderful to finally meet in person. Can't wait to see more of your pictures!

Courtney + Swan House: you did get a good visit with some of the best that Atlanta has to offer!

How lovely for the two of you to meet "off line." Much good will come of this. Nice synergy. Will you be meeting the courtly Mr. Blue as well?

Beautiful image of Swan House. I love the acidic green of the drawing room. KDM

Anonymous, a few years back we had a private tour of the Swan House just as the renovation was completed and the friend showing us around described the color scheme of the morning room as being "poison green and titty pink."

The columns in the foyer had also been painted a terra-cotta pink, apparently based on scrapes, but there was so much objection to the color despite its correctness it was painted over white. A pity really.

Courtney ~ someone should devise a Peachtree app to help visitors to Atlanta! WONDERFUL to meet you and spend a sunday afternoon together in the sun. xo

Classicist ~ indeed!!!

hbd ~ I did not have a chance to meet Mr. Blue. I think there will have to be another trip.

Stefan ~ how wonderful it would have been to have had all three of us together!

KDM ~ I have nothing to add after reading Blue's comment. There you go. . .

Blue ~ ha! I love it!!!!
