patterns: a flower garden

I love these gorgeous patterns from the Leman Album at the Victoria & Albert Museum, which contains 97 watercolor designs for woven silk textiles.

Ahh - Spitalfields! When I was at Petworth during Attingham the lady of the house memorably waved into a guest room explaining "this is just an early Chippendale bed with its original spitalfields hangings." Beyond it was a Rubens saint. Pattern and piety at Petworth. KDM
