glad tidings

The gentleman and I are off on our long drive north first thing tomorrow morning. These photographs are from our Boxing Day sleigh ride last year. Judging by the weather report, it's looking like we'll have another white Christmas.

There are shiny silver packages, bits of glitter, and brightly-colored ribbons littering the floor of our apartment ~ the sort of happy chaos that makes one smile in anticipation, and at the same time despair that things will ever be ready in time. I think Santa's elves are going to be hard at work tonight! But then it's time for good cheer and good friends, anxious parents and wriggly little dogs!

Glad tidings to you and yours.

Best wishes for the holidays. xo

I'm still in the midst of brightly coloured holiday chaos, too. I hope the white Christmas waits until you are safe and sound at your destination . . . but then bring on the snow!! :)

Happy holidays to you and yours!!

Hug your mother for me & give her my warmest regards. The two of you already carry them with you daily. I know Cooper will be overjoyed. Barbara

By the time you get to Maine, Cooper will have already read "How to Identify and Eradicate Pests in Maine." Wish he would vacation with me next summer and organized the troops to deal with my gophers.

The merriest of Christmases, so special because it is your first together.

hbd ~ well, I don't think Cooper is going to be reading much of anything if he keeps getting into the liquor cabinet: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smilla4/5281031002/

Have a wonderful holiday and a safe drive. Have to agree about the beauty of the winter landscape. It's my favorite season in the garden. The views are breathtaking and I can enjoy them because I am not thinking about getting out there and working!

I'm not so totally certain about that white christmas up here. A soft rain has obliterated what snow was on the ground...we'll see.
